Level: Level 4

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Working week: Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: 15th September2026 – 28th July 2028

Working style: Hybrid: A blend of working from your hub office and home working. Days in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to our hub offices.

Qualification you will earn: The programme is a Level 4 qualification which is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree or a Higher National Certificate (HNC).

Your future team
You\’ll be joining a dynamic team dedicated to delivering software and content licensing solutions that empower UK further and higher education institutions. Working alongside experienced licensing managers and portfolio specialists, you\’ll gain hands‐on experience by attending key meetings, supporting negotiation processes, and actively contributing to a variety of licensing initiatives that shape the future of education.

A Day in the Life of an Associate Project Manager Apprentice
A typical day sees you supporting the licensing team, preparing for vendor negotiations, tracking licence agreements, and reviewing pricing proposals and contract terms to ensure they meet academic needs. Along the way, you\’ll collaborate with colleagues and gain hands‐on experience in the processes that keep Jisc\’s licensing work running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining documentation and CRM records, supporting stakeholder consultations, and contributing to reporting on agreement performance and sector impact. You\’ll also help identify potential issues with vendor delivery and assist in updating licence terms, pricing, or scope as needed.

Collaboration sits at the core of this role. You\’ll partner with colleagues across licensing, procurement, data, and business operations, bringing together diverse expertise to understand member priorities and drive projects forward. By working seamlessly across teams, you\’ll help turn complex needs into impactful delivery.

Entry requirements

At least 5 × GCSE\’s including English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above

At least 48 UCAS points or equivalent

You are 16 years of age or over by the time you start your apprenticeship

A UK resident (for at least the past 3 years) with the right to work in the UK who will be living in England for the duration of the apprenticeship.

To qualify for the apprenticeship levy you need to reside in England or be able to work from an England Jisc office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Not in full‐time education (you can of course be in education when you apply but must have completed your studies by the time the apprenticeship starts.)

Eligibility
Please note that if you hold any of the below qualifications, we will not be able to offer you an apprenticeship.

A Project management qualification at Level 4 or higher, such as:

Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Project Management

Level 6 Project Manager Integrated Degree Apprenticeship

Foundation Degree, Higher National Certificate/Higher National Diploma, or Bachelor\’s/ Master\’s degree in project management or closely related discipline (e.g., programme management, operations management)

Prince2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, or AgilePM Practitioner (if studied outside the apprenticeship and at a higher level)

Please note that this role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. This decision is based on current Home Office eligibility criteria, which require specific conditions to be met in terms of job type, salary level, and other factors. As such, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
