Our UX team works hand-in-hand with developers, product managers, and stakeholders across Jisc to ensure every solution is shaped by real user insight and aligned with sector needs.
The role
We\βre looking for a creative, user-focused UX Designer who thrives in autonomous roles to help shape the future of digital services in education and research.
In this role, you\βll own UX initiatives end-to-end, designing intuitive, inclusive experiences across a range of products, making sure every interaction feels purposeful, accessible, and aligned with user needs.

We\βre looking for a Level 3 UX Designer who can lead UX work within their product team.
You\βll be a strong generalist across the full UX process, with deeper expertise in either research or design.
You\βll work independently, guide your team with evidence-based decisions, and help ensure our products deliver clear, user-centred experiences.
What you\βll be doing
Leading day-to-day UX activity in your product team.
Planning and carrying out UX work independently across discovery, design, and evaluation.
Using your specialist depth (research or design) to guide team decisions.
Working closely with developers and product managers to shape solutions.
Presenting clear insights, decisions, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Producing structured, usable outputs such as research summaries, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Supporting collaboration through workshops and feedback sessions.
Key skills and experience
Strong generalist skills across research, design, and evaluation.
Able to lead UX work independently and make sound judgements about when to involve others.
Shapes service roadmaps and plans through applied UX expertise.
Comfortable working in cross-functional, agile teams.
Clear communicator, able to explain evidence, decisions, and trade-offs.
Confident working on multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
