Reports into: Head of Sales – student services

Location: Hybrid – A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

About the role:

As an Account Manager, you own the relationship between Prospects and your portfolio of accounts. You should seek opportunities to maximise and grow Prospects business through making the most of leads to sell new and existing products from across the Prospects portfolio. Your role is to engage with senior leaders and influencers in commercial organisations and media buying agencies to gain insight into their needs and position Prospects as a preferred partner. We are looking for someone from either a digital media, marketing & sales or a recruitment advertising background

About the team:

This fantastic opportunity sits within the commercial services division within the employer recruitment market and is responsible for delivering income from commercial organisation in the early talent arena.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Be available to senior representatives of your territories accounts as the principal point of contact with respect to all Prospects products and services
  • Conduct campaign reviews and relationship management activities with members in respect to the organisational consumption of Prospects products and services
  • Build effective strategic relationships with clients, gaining an understanding of their specific business needs to drive our growth through enhanced service usage and new sales opportunities
  • Achieve allocated annual sales target by generating revenue from accounts that are already spending money with us and develop additional business with new prospective accounts through targeted and proactive sales.
  • Specifically:
  • own the relationship with each allocated account and to routinely inform, influence and persuade via face to face/virtual presentation models
  • identify and explore member needs via effective questioning, seeking opportunities to cross-and up-sell
  • deliver according to a sales plan that drives new income
  • deliver an analytical approach to relationship building and account development
  • identify buying points in the organisation that may not be currently purchasing from us
  • examine product or service penetration for each account, acting accordingly to increase product uptake and usage

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Working alongside other account managers as a field-based worker, you will be comfortable with building relationships in a remote environment.
  • Strong account management skills and a demonstrable track record of exceeding targets is required
  • Experience of strong B2B sales – both new business and account management are essential
  • You will be a team player, able to function at a high level within the context of your team, as well as being strongly motivated to operate using your own initiative.
  • You will manage your own workload to achieve targets although team working is encouraged to achieve objectives.
  • You are required to operate flexibly across a large and often diverse geography and membership/customer base. We value interaction with other teams across Jisc to build internal relationships to provide the best for our members and customers.
  • Record of managing sales via direct clients and agency partners
  • Ability to present and inspire an audience
  • Ability to close new business and manage sales through a pipeline Lead generation
