The Role – Background

This role will report into the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, EMEA, supporting on all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) across the region.

The role will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, management reporting and business partnering, providing financial insight and decision support to drive commercial performance across the EMEA business

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the Commercial Finance team in the preparation, review and submission of quarterly budgets and forecasts, ensuring robust assumptions, accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Lead the rollover and maintenance of forecast P&Ls, including the upload of forecast data and partner with the EMEA Actuals Reporting team to ensure accurate submissions
  • Business partnering with the EMEA Marketing, Visual Merchandise and Health and Safety teams, taking responsibility of these lines for budget and forecasting, as well as month end reporting purposes.
  • Review monthly P&Ls and key cost lines, performing detailed variance analysis and delivering clear and concise commentary for management.
  • Prepare month-end journals, accruals and reconciliations, including Sales, Personal Vouches, Courier Accruals and Quarterly Gift Card Accruals.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to challenge assumptions, provide commercial insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Take ownership of retail store commission calculations, partnering with HR and Payroll teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, planning processes and controls, driving efficiency, consistency and accuracy.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, projects and strategic initiatives as required by the business.
  • Proactively identify value-add opportunities and process improvements that enhance business performance and financial understanding.
  • Using own initiative to identify value add projects where time permits.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Formal professional accountancy qualification fully or part qualified (CIMA or ACCA international equivalent)
  • Strong retail background in a multi-currency, multi entity business
  • Experience using SAP and HP/HFM is desirable
