Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Designer and Senior Design Director in the design and development of Women's Shoes in line with the collection direction set by the Creative Director.
- Assist in the creation of seasonal concepts by contributing ideas, sketches, and research for review.
- Translate design direction into commercially relevant product, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetic and market trends.
- Support the preparation of design specifications, including materials, components, and construction details.
- Conduct research into trends, materials, and techniques, sharing insights with the wider design team.
- Work closely with Merchandising and Product Development teams to support the delivery of the collection in line with timelines and business needs.
- Collaborate with other Designers to ensure consistency across design details and seasonal themes.
- Assist in preparing materials and product for collection presentations and Edit reviews.
- Support fit sessions, spec reviews, and development follow-up under guidance from Senior team members.
- Build effective working relationships with internal teams and support communication with external vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain awareness of the design and development calendar to support timely delivery of design work.
Qualifications
- Fashion/Design Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in footwear design, ideally with exposure to Women's Shoes.
- Experience within a fashion brand or design environment (luxury experience beneficial but not essential).
- Some understanding of factory processes and supplier relationships is advantageous.
Skills / Knowledge
- Understanding of the collection development process.
- Knowledge of footwear materials, components, and basic construction techniques.
- Familiarity with line plans and the role of design within commercial collections.
- Awareness of footwear terminology.
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- Good eye for colour, proportion, and design detail.
- Ability to interpret creative direction and contribute ideas within a team environment.
- Developing technical knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Awareness of fashion trends and the luxury marketplace.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across teams.
- Capable of managing workload with guidance and prioritising tasks effectively.
- Italian language skills advantageous but not required.
