Position Overview
JLL are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at West Quay Shopping Centre, Southampton. You will be responsible for maintenance and reactive duties at this premier retail destination.
Location: West Quay, Southampton (Site Based)
Core Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 17:00pm
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with company PPM and task schedules.
- Undertake PPM activity in a quality, professional manner.
- Use and complete CAFM system accurately.
- Undertake reactive maintenance works as directed by Help Desk and/or management team.
- Manage JLL sub-contractors whilst working on site.
- Production of technical and situational reports as required.
- Writing activity reports in line with company procedures accurately and timely.
- Provide accurate timesheet information weekly and on time.
- Proactively assist management team to produce quotations by providing accurate information for extra works.
- Be part of the current shift team (Early, late & weekend).
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients at all times.
- Attend team meetings/briefings.
- Ensure the company is presented in a positive light at all times.
- Provide first line out of hours call out for the site.
- Proactively use technology systems to ensure contractual compliance.
- Carry out works in a professional and proactive manner.
- Escalate major site issues or incidents to line manager immediately.
- Understand requirements of all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation.
- Ensure materials and equipment are handled, stored and used with due regard to relevant legislation.
- Actively participate in health and safety processes including accident investigation, reporting, risk assessments and auditing.
- Co-operate with the company to fulfil moral and legal duties and obligations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Electrical Engineering apprenticeship / NVQ or C&G (Essential).
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (Essential).
- Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training if you have 17th Edition.
- Knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation extraction, plumbing and general fabric.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Commercial environment.
- Experience working in retail or shopping centre environments preferred.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of staff.
- Proactive approach to achieving the highest standard of operation.
- Good IT and report writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver required services within given time constraints.
