Role Purpose: The Shift Engineer reports directly to the Shift Leader. This role is accountable for delivering high standards of PPM & Reactive maintenance within critical facility operations with 100% uptime standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Operations & Systems Management
    • Operate all facility systems competently, effectively and efficiently.
    • Deliver maintenance of building systems including MEP & Fabric assets.
    • Ensure compliance & statutory tasks are completed on time.
    • Monitor utilities usage and report abnormalities or energy savings to client.
    • Support in identifying onsite critical spares including site stock register and monthly auditing.
    • Update asset database accuracy and updates within the CAFM System.
    • Provide emergency engineering relief cover.
    • Own the delivery of PPM and reactive tasks, ensuring reporting shows positive identification of critical plant and materials required to keep the client’s plant functioning effectively.
    • Supervise sub-contractors through planned and reactive maintenance, reporting on findings and driving forward solutions with the client.
    • Ensure Plant areas, workshops, stores, changing and rest areas etc. are kept to the highest level of housekeeping driving standards through the team.
    • Participate alongside team members on Event Days, attendance may be required outside of business hours, this may also be required depending on event criticality.
    • Coordinate with key stakeholders across the Event’s planning teams in addition to the FM team, building solid relationships and trust to be the ‘trusted partner’ in respect of MEP & Fabric.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Work closely with Account Team to achieve 100% Critical Facilities uptime.
    • Attend operations meetings and client meetings as requested.
    • Support projects, contractors, and planned/reactive MEP & F works.
    • Ensure immediate notification of critical equipment issues with relevant reports and recommendations.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Ensure team are providing accurate and complete details on their PPM tasks.
    • Ensure accurate information is supplied for client and internal reporting.
    • Support in compiling detail feeding into the engineering risk register.
    • Report back to management on critical systems availability and asset reliability.
    • Handle critical incident (2-2-2) and near miss reporting with after-action reviews.
    • Provide technical reports and improvement recommendations as required.
    • Manage debit and WIP review and updates.
  • Health & Safety Leadership
    • Proactively promote 'Safety First' culture in line with JLL Cardinal Rules of Safety.
    • Ensure safe, professional and conscientious conduct of all Personnel.
    • Drive Health & Safety culture throughout the team.
    • Apply knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance requirements.
  • Additional Duties
    • Communicate and implement technical/legislative updates effectively.
    • Participate actively in site escalation processes including on-call emergency response.
    • Provide ONWH support for critical works when required.
    • Become familiar with REM contract administrative requirements and JLL processes.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Approved apprenticeship or appropriate experience within Building Services.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with staff and Customers.
  • Formal qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Experience as an end user of a Building Management Systems.
  • Intermediate computer literacy using Windows Office applications.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with experience of report writing.

Qualifications:

  • 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation.
  • Previously LV/HV Authorised Person.
  • C&G 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or equivalent.
  • C&G 2391 - Desirable.
  • C&G Mechanical Qualification.
