Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of local children and families? Do you have a knack for bringing people together and inspiring volunteers? If so, we’d love to hear from you! We at Jig-So are looking to appoint a part time Volunteer Co-Ordinator based across North Pembrokeshire to help us provide volunteer opportunities and build a strong pool of volunteers.

About Us

Jig-So Children\’s Centre is a vibrant and welcoming space dedicated to supporting children and families in our community. We provide drop in play sessions, after school and Saturday club sessions for families with children aged 0-14 from outreach venues across North Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, and from our centre in Cardigan. Volunteers play a crucial role in running these sessions, and we need a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to lead the way! This role is based in Pembrokeshire to support the development of volunteers in the area.

The Role

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will:

Travel to outreach sessions across North Pembrokeshire, establishing and building relationships at existing sessions and identifying new opportunities across the county for growth.

Recruit, train, and support volunteers.

Develop engaging volunteer opportunities that align with our mission.

Organise volunteer schedules and potential training opportunities.

Manage and be the point of contact for any apprenticeship queries, alongside Operations Manager and Deputy Operations Manager.

Ensure volunteers feel valued and motivated.

Maintain records and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.

Build relationships with local organisations such as PAVS, Pembrokeshire Council and the Urdd to encourage community involvement.

Attend relevant network meetings.

Undertaking training as required.

Person Specification. Skills & Experience – Essential

· Ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including other organisations, families, staff and trustees

· Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach

· Experience in volunteer management or community engagement roles

· Strong understanding of recruitment, support, and retention of volunteers

· Experience delivering training or supervising individuals/groups

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

· Good time management with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

· Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

· Working knowledge of IT software programs, including Microsoft 365 and other relevant software

· Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures

· Reliable, enthusiastic, and adaptable

· Passionate about volunteering and community impact

· Experience of working within the charitable / voluntary sector with an understanding of children and families’ specific challenges and needs

· Confident conversing through the medium of Welsh

· Understanding of data protection and GDPR regulations
