We are looking for a Finance Payroll Advisor to join our team part time 3 days a week.

JOB PURPOSE

Process Jigsaw payroll for the shop staff, Head Office and Warehouse.

– Add new starters to payroll provided by HR, pro rata salaries where necessary

– Pro rata leavers pay and finalise accrued holiday balance to be paid/recovered

– Update the payroll system with any amendments

– Obtain self-certification forms for all sickness absence and submit to HR for authorisation

– Update annual leave spreadsheets

– Access online gateway and set up student loan deductions when notified by HMRC and amend tax code changes

– Send out correspondence to staff due to go on maternity leave

– Send out loan agreements to staff that have been approved for personal reasons, season tickets and Medical Insurance (family members); ensure correct loan deductions are calculated and set up new loans on payroll

– Calculate and process SSP/SMP payments

– Process payroll reports and Payroll queries

Payroll reports:

– Enter Head Office, RWP gross to net analysis by individual cost centre on wages journal and post to accounting system (Navision)

– Ad hoc requests for payroll information e.g. staff names and salaries, bonuses, overtime, holidays, sickness

– Reporting on pension contributions deducted each payroll to reconcile with Aegon Report and submit to Aegon website

– P35 reconciliation and PAYE/NIC payments over to HMRC

End of Year:

– Reconciliation and running of tax year end process for all payrolls

– Updating of Tax/NIC rates and payroll parameters, and preparing payroll system for the new tax year

– Producing P60s

– Producing P11Ds

– Responsibility for maintenance of payroll system

– Applying upgrades prior to running year ends and before generating forms P11D and various ad hoc upgrades throughout the year

– Liaising with KCS helpdesk when fixes required

Jigsaw Group Personal Pension Scheme:

– Responsibility and point of contact for pension scheme; arrange monthly payment online.

Childcare Vouchers:

– Responsibility for distributing information packs and salary sacrifice forms; placing orders and setting up on payroll system

Eyecare Vouchers:

– Distribute eye care and spectacle vouchers on request; maintain record of staff that have been issued with vouchers

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

– Excellent communication and people skills

– Planning and organisational skills

– Excellent attention to detail

– Ability to work in a fast paced environment

– Ability to interpret relevant legislation and ensure the business is compliant

– Ensure the legal and statutory obligations are met including SSP, SMP, PAYE/NIC returns, Class 1A returns

QUALIFICATIONS (Desirable)

– CIPP qualification

– 2 years\’ experience in payroll

– working knowledge of payroll systems

– Knowledge of current payroll and tax legislation

– Previous experience of using the payroll system KCS
