We are currently working with a leading manufacturing group who are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support Engineer to join their busy in-house IT team. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting users across multiple sites and international locations, offering exposure to a wide range of technologies and IT functions.

The Role

You will provide 1st and 2nd line support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of IT services within a fast-paced production environment. Acting as a key point of contact for all levels of staff, you will manage IT requests, monitor systems, and support both physical and virtual infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1st/2nd line hardware and application support (on-site and remote)
  • Build, upgrade and maintain PCs, hardware and operating systems
  • Install and support software applications
  • Administer user accounts and deliver new starter inductions
  • Monitor servers, networks, backups and system health
  • Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, Office)
  • Manage IT asset procurement, setup, and lifecycle (including disposal)
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows domain environments and Office 365
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
  • Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and networking
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across all business levels
  • Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required)
