Hybrid | Dorset | Circa £40,000 FTE

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a role that offers flexibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact? Our client is a growing, values-led organisation based in Dorset that is seeking to appoint its first dedicated HR Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join a successful business at an exciting stage of its development and play a key role in shaping its people strategy, culture and HR function.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing both strategic and operational HR support across the organisation. As the standalone HR professional, you will have the opportunity to establish best practice, implement policies and processes, and support managers with all aspects of the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary HR contact across the organisation
  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and best practice
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and employee retention initiatives
  • Lead on compliance, employment legislation and HR governance
  • Contribute to organisational development, engagement and culture initiatives
  • Produce HR reports and management information as required
  • Coach and support managers on people-related matters

About You

  • Previous experience in a standalone HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner role
  • Strong employee relations and employment law knowledge
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
