We are currently working with a leading manufacturing group who are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support Engineer to join their busy in-house IT team. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting users across multiple sites and international locations, offering exposure to a wide range of technologies and IT functions.
The Role
You will provide 1st and 2nd line support, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of IT services within a fast-paced production environment. Acting as a key point of contact for all levels of staff, you will manage IT requests, monitor systems, and support both physical and virtual infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1st/2nd line hardware and application support (on-site and remote)
- Build, upgrade and maintain PCs, hardware and operating systems
- Install and support software applications
- Administer user accounts and deliver new starter inductions
- Monitor servers, networks, backups and system health
- Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, Office)
- Manage IT asset procurement, setup, and lifecycle (including disposal)
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support role
- Strong knowledge of Windows domain environments and Office 365
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
- Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and networking
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across all business levels
- Full UK driving licence (travel between sites required)
