Jigsaw, a pioneer of the British high street, is seeking a Senior Softs Designer for a 6‑month contract to join the creative team at our beautiful headquarters in Kew Gardens. This is a full‑time, 5 days a week in‑office role for an experienced designer to own the 360‑degree product lifecycle of our soft wovens collection.

The Role

  • You will design beautiful, high‑quality contemporary collections that stay true to Jigsaw’s heritage of craft and design.
  • This role owns the full end‑to‑end process, requiring a mix of creative vision and strong commercial execution during this contract period.

Key Responsibilities

  • 360‑Degree Product Ownership: Lead the full product journey, including trend research, creative fabric and trim selection, sketching, and launching comprehensive tech workbooks.
  • Fittings & Construction: Take full responsibility for regular fitting sessions, working closely with garment technologists to ensure premium silhouette execution and construction.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with our buying and merchandising teams to balance creative vision with commercial viability, range architecture, and critical path deadlines.
  • Market Sourcing: Source fabrics and materials that align with Jigsaw's commitment to quality, sustainability, and contemporary elevated aesthetics.

About You

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience designing womenswear softs/wovens.
  • Experience at a premium, contemporary, or designer‑level brand is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work full‑time (5 days a week) from our Kew Gardens studio to collaborate dynamically with the wider team.
  • Immediately available or on a short notice period to commit to a 6‑month contract.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and creating detailed factory workbooks.
  • A strong understanding of the premium British high street and the modern contemporary luxury landscape.
