We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team in our Head Office in Richmond.
JOB PURPOSE
This newly created position supports our senior finance manager with statutory reporting, audit, expense management and internal controls.
The role is ideally suited to a candidate who has excellent attention to detail, is proactive in improving processes, and has good organisational and communication skills.
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce accurate and on time Store, Web and bank cash reconciliations.
- Reconcile payment providers.
- Assist in monitoring trade receivables and debtors position.
- Review and process corporate card holder’s monthly expenditure.
- Own expense management solution and reconciliation.
- Process employee expenses.
- Capex and depreciation accounting and reporting, supporting the budget and forecasting process.
- Prepare UK VAT returns and PAYE submissions.
- Support senior finance manager with statutory reporting and audit.
- Support senior finance manager with implementing rigorous financial controls within the business.
- Provide admin support within the finance team when required.
- Be involved in stock procedures, including transfer monitoring, stock adjustments and stock discrepancy investigation.
- Update commodity codes.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Rigorous attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and to deadlines.
- Retail knowledge and understanding of bank reconciliations.
- Hardworking team player who looks forward to new challenges and opportunities.
- Good MS Excel skills (pivot tables, V-look ups).
- Microsoft Navision/Dynamics experience would be highly desirable.
