As a Welfare Benefits Officer, you will be helping the Money Advice team provide a highly visible community-based service, engaging with residents daily. You will assist residents to maximise their incomes and provide them with advice, support and assistance to enhance their financial circumstances and wellbeing. With empathy and understanding of the financial challenges facing vulnerable residents in the current climate, you’ll train to help deliver a responsive and sensitive service to those who are at risk and will help assess what kind of support they need. You’ll strive to improve the quality of life for residents and provide advice, guidance and assistance on how to make the most of their income, any benefits they are entitled to and improve financial wellbeing to reduce the risk of rent arrears to help them sustain their tenancies.
