Do you have experience of working in a customer facing or front of house role? Are you looking for a role in a friendly team where you can also make a real difference? Are you passionate about good food and yummy baking? If so this role in our newly refreshed café could be for you! You will be part of a busy and friendly team at Café on the Park based on Dunsfold Business Park. The Café is a social enterprise providing catering services to the visitors and tenants of the Park as well as volunteering and work place opportunities to young people and adults with autism.
You will contribute to the enterprise by supporting its day-to-day operation, working both front of house serving customers, and in the kitchen assisting the Café Cook and other team members. The key benefit of this role is helping to make a real difference to our learners while having no commitment to working either at the weekend or in the evenings.

- Taking customer orders and up selling specials and new menu items

- Assisting the Café Cook in the preparation of fresh and high-quality food options
- Maintaining a well-stocked, clean and tidy environment in both the kitchen and cafe
- Contributing to work experience opportunities and enjoyment for Jigsaw’s autistic adult learners and pupils
- Take on board all customer feedback to ensure great customer experience
- Proven experience of working in a cafe/restaurant/front of house/customer facing role
- Proven experience of preparing food in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to work under pressure - independently and as part of a team
- A friendly, cheerful disposition with a positive, can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A good standard of personal presentation and a solid understanding of health and hygiene requirements
- A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential
- Driving Licence or access to a lift (Due to our remote location)
Contract terms: 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 12.30pm (Some flexibility around start and end times can be considered)
