As a Lead Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules and plans for various public works construction projects. You will ensure that project timelines, resources, and costs are tracked accurately to facilitate smooth project delivery. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position is critical to the success of our Clients projects, and the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining detailed schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting against programme milestones
  • Resource and risk management
  • Supporting commercial and budget objectives
  • Coordinating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Managing programme changes and mitigation strategies
  • Conducting regular site visits and ensuring compliance with H&S standards
  • Mentoring junior planning staff

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within construction planning
  • Civils, infrastructure, rail, or public works project experience preferred
  • Strong Primavera P6 and/or MS Project knowledge
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar (desirable)
  • APM/CIOB membership advantageous
