The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 £ per year.

Lead day-to-day delivery of planned (PPM) and reactive works across rail infrastructure and buildings. You will plan access (possessions/isolations), allocate resources, manage safety, cost and quality, and ensure timely close-out with auditable evidence and minimal service impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workbank Planning: Convert CAFM schedules into 4–12 week lookaheads; balance preventive and reactive priorities.
  • Possession & Isolation Planning: Input requests into PPS (Possession Planning System); attend planning meetings.
  • Safe Systems of Work: Own RAMS, WPPs and Task Briefs; set exclusion zones and permit controls aligned to EAS (Engineering Access Statement) / TPR (Track Protection Rules).
  • Daily Operations: Chair morning brief; allocate supervisors/operatives/plant; manage toolbox talks and close-out checks.
  • Plant & Tools: Issue/track plant, MEWPs and tools; ensure inspections, calibration and secure storage.
  • Materials & Logistics: Raise requisitions, schedule deliveries, and manage compound inventories to avoid downtime.
  • Quality & ITPs: Execute inspection regimes, record evidence, clear snags and document handovers.
  • Cost Control: Approve timesheets; monitor productivity, overtime and materials against budget; support QS with CVR and variations.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with depot ops, TOCs and subcontractors to deconflict works and maintain service.
  • Performance Reporting: Issue weekly KPI reports on programme adherence, safety, defects and productivity.
  • Team Leadership: Coach supervisors and operatives; manage competence and training matrices.
  • Rail Maintenance Delivery: PPM/reactive execution in stations/depots/civils.
  • Access Rules: Understanding of EAS/TPR, PPS and weekly operating notices.
  • Scheduling & CAFM: Building lookaheads from CAFM with resource/plant alignment.
  • Safety & CDM: Permits, isolations and practical H&S leadership.
  • Commercial Awareness: Productivity, timesheets, change control and materials/plant budgets.
  • Communication: Clear briefings and escalation in fast-moving operations.

  • Resource and programme management experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • SMSTS/SSSTS Framework maintenance experience.
