Lead Service Technician
Location: Leicestershire UK with travel and overnight stays as required
Job Overview:
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive warranty and service support for photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Reporting directly to the Jigsaw Support Services (JSS) line manager, you will conduct a wide range of activities, from on-site inspections and maintenance to customer interaction and equipment handling. This role involves travel, hands-on equipment management, and adherence to high standards in safety and operational procedures.
Main Activities:
- Support weekly activity meeting to discuss and plan forecasted workload
- Ensure RAMS are available for each site to be visited
- Organize loading of stock items & equipment into van
- Ensure items and all equipment is secure and safe within vehicle before leaving
- Organize unloading of returned items into warehouse upon return
- Ensuring all Goods in Transit paperwork is correct and present for any journey
- Keep vehicle clean & tidy, ensure well maintained (fuel, oil, water etc) and ready to drive
- Responsible for using Jigsawsafe via mobile application on mobile device to complete all required job tasks whilst at site/customer location
- Responsible for coordinating any sub-contract resource whilst on site/customer location
- Responsible for contacting Original Equipment Manufacturer (invertor / battery / optimizer / etc) whilst on site to verify newly installed equipment and full system is operational
- Responsible for other Jigsaw staff whilst at customer location
- Responsible for making sure customer is happy with work completion and location is left as it was found. Requesting customer feedback via app / mobile device.
- Inform Operations Compliance Lead if any issues occur which may impact the planned visits to customers locations, update contact / customers with visit times.
- Inform Operations Compliance lead of any issues/restrictions that may impact safe completion of planned job activity.
- When in office, support customer calls to identify future job activities
- When in office, updating jobs completion status on required data sheets
- Assist in unloading item deliveries into Jigsaw warehouse, stacking in warehouse and recording goods received.
- At all times keep all Stock. Tools & Equipment in good order (5S Housekeeping) .
- Other office or site-based tasks as required
- When required, driving vehicle in a safe manner according to UK/local traffic regulations
- Potential to work at height, within confined space such as attics
- Undertake Occupational Health Assessments
- Undertake mandatory Training
- Undertake voluntary Training for the furtherment of your standing within the company
Skills/capabilities:
- Ability to manage people
- Good communication skills
- Good Computer skills (experience with Microsoft tools)
- Comfortable with using mobile devices – Phones and tablets
- Experience of interfacing with external customers/public
- Courteous / polite / patient with all external customers
- Represents the Jigsaw Sustainable Solutions at all times

- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent driving skills with full UK driving license
- Ability to identify risk
- Awareness of Health and safety procedures, and keeps safety in front of all activities

- Physically fit, will provide manual handling training
- First aid training would be useful
- Qualified to Level 2 / 3 Electrician typically C&G 2365 / NVQ / EAL Diploma / minimum of 3 years\’ experience.
