Stores / Warehouse Person


Reporting To: Operations Manager


Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30 (45-minute lunch break between 12:00 – 14:00)


Role Overvie


We are seeking an organised and proactive Stores / Warehouse Person to support the efficient operation of our warehouse, stores, and inventory function. This role is critical in ensuring stock is accurately received, stored, controlled, and picked to support on-time delivery to customers. The successful candidate will maintain high standards of inventory accuracy, quality control, housekeeping, and stock integrity while supporting operational and customer requirements in a fast-paced environment


Key Responsibilities



  • Receive incoming goods and carry out quality and quantity checks

  • Accurately process stock movements and maintain inventory records

  • Pick, pack, and prepare materials for customer orders and production requirements

  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, shortages, and inventory queries

  • Ensure all goods are correctly identified, labelled, and stored in designated locations

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock security, and organisation within the warehouse and stores areas

  • Support inventory forecasting, replenishment activities, and stock control processes

  • Maintain accurate ERP system data, including stock levels, locations, transactions, and reorder points

  • Liaise with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and Project teams to ensure materials are available to meet business requirements

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse and inventory functions

  • Assist with general operational, purchasing, and administrative duties as require


Skills & Experience


Essential



  • Experience within a stores, warehouse, inventory control, or logistics environment

  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and stock control processes

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience managing high-volume stock transactions and multiple product lines

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with multiple departments


Desirable



  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, construction, trade, or distribution environment

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

  • Knowledge of hardware, ironmongery, or building products

  • Experience supporting demand planning, replenishment, or forecasting activities

  • Forklift licence or experience operating warehouse equipment
