We are looking for a qualified MOT Tester for our busy dealership in Wincanton. Would you like to maximise your potential in a growing family-owned business? Day to day, you will:

  • Carry out MOT testing, confidently communicating areas of concern.
  • Communicate directly with customers to identify/understand concerns with vehicle running performance and to advise about technical issues.
  • Road test vehicles on completion of repair/service work, also accompanying customers for demonstration of vehicle concerns or faults.
  • Receive ongoing manufacturer training, both in-house and external training centres.
  • Comply with company and manufacturer disciplines and procedures.
  • Support others around the business by performing to the best of your ability.

The ideal candidate:

  • Is positive, punctual, hardworking, flexible and driven.
  • Has main dealer experience.
  • Possesses technical knowledge of a range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Is literate and numerate, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues alike.
  • Can follow instructions and work alone without supervision.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus and takes pride in delivering a high-quality experience that is second-to-none.
  • Is well-presented and able to engage and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Will be honest with high levels of integrity.
  • Can work quickly, while maintaining quality assurance in order to maximise workshop capacity.
  • Thrives and remains calm under pressure, whilst meeting deadlines.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified & experienced MOT Tester (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • A desire to provide exceptional customer experiences.
  • Computer literate and can easily learn new systems.
