The Opportunity

An established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced

Civils Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of a wide range of infrastructure projects across Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.

The business delivers projects including highways, public realm improvements, flood defence schemes, bridge works, active travel initiatives and other major civil engineering infrastructure works.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work.

The Role

As a Civils Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting site operations by providing accurate setting out, technical expertise and engineering support throughout the construction phase.

Working closely with site management teams, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with design specifications and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out accurate setting out for all construction activities.
  • Ensure works are completed safely, to specification and in line with project drawings.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site teams.
  • Monitor engineering quality and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Step into Site Manager responsibilities when required to provide short-term cover.
  • Produce and maintain site records, engineering documentation and as-built drawings.
  • Liaise with client representatives and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Provide accurate measurements and records to assist the commercial team with valuations.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and health & safety standards.
  • Deliver a professional service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

About You To be successful in this role, you'll have

  • HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant engineering or technical qualifications.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience using surveying software such as LSS or N4CE would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of setting out and engineering principles.
