We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join a professional and busy workshop in Hinckley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced technician who takes pride in producing high-quality work and preparing vehicles to the highest standards.
The Role
As a Prep Technician, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for retail and customer handover, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle preparation to a high standard.
- Complete servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
- Carry out vehicle health checks and identify any additional work required.
- Prepare vehicles for retail and customer handover.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with manufacturer and company standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Work efficiently to meet workshop deadlines while maintaining excellent quality.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification.
- MOT Tester qualification desirable, but not essential.
- At least 4 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Prep Technician.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and fault‑finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
Working Hours
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Salary & Benefits
- £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- 22 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
