About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Foreman to join a growing civil engineering contractor delivering a variety of projects across highways, water and infrastructure sectors throughout the Northwest and Cumbria. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site operations, leading site teams and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day‑to‑day site activities across civil engineering projects.
- Lead site teams and subcontractors to ensure safe and productive working practices.
- Ensure RAMS are fully implemented and understood by all operatives.
- Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inspections.
- Monitor health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Ensure adequate labour, plant and materials are available on site.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction information.
- Report site progress, issues and changing site conditions to management.
- Maintain accurate records and submit timesheets.
- Support and mentor junior team members and apprentices.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Foreman within civil engineering.
- Experience in drainage, reinforced concrete, highways, earthworks and water projects.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Ability to manage multiple gangs and subcontractors.
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
