Design Manager / Coordinator – Cornwall Location: Truro (office based) Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum + car allowance + attractive benefits Contract type: Permanent The Company An established main contractor is looking for a Design Manager/Coordinator to join their Cornwall office. Working alongside and reporting into a Senior Design Manager, you'll be involved in a varied portfolio of projects ranging from £500k to £20m, spanning Passivhaus schemes, schools, healthcare, and commercial projects. The Role As Design Manager/Coordinator, you will support the design management function across a range of live projects, working closely with the Senior Design Manager and Director to ensure design information is coordinated, compliant, and delivered in line with programme requirements. This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad mix of sectors and project sizes. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting the Senior Design Manager across a portfolio of projects from £500k to £25m * Coordinating design information between architects, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams * Managing design programmes and tracking information release against construction requirements * Reviewing drawings and technical information for buildability, coordination, and compliance * Attending design team meetings and ensuring actions are tracked and closed out * Supporting the resolution of design queries and technical issues arising on site * Assisting with design risk management and value engineering where required About You * Background in site/project management, engineering, or architecture * Experience working for a main contractor on build and refurbishment schemes highly desirable * Strong understanding of the design process and construction detailing * Excellent coordination, organisational, and communication skills * Comfortable working across a varied portfolio of project types and sizes * Full UK driving licence What's on Offer * £50,000–£60,000 per annum, dependent on experience * Car allowance * Attractive benefits package * Exposure to a broad and varied project portfolio, including Passivhaus, education, healthcare, and commercial schemes * Genuine opportunity for career progression within an established consutrction team
