JHR Recruitment is working with a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the South West. Due to continued growth and a secured pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Lead Site Manager to take responsibility for a key project in Plymouth.
The Project
You will lead the delivery of a £400k refurbishment to a commercial building within a high security military base in Plymouth. This is a fast paced, technically focused project including new M&E install. Requiring strong coordination, programme management, and attention to detail to ensure minimal disruption and high-quality execution.
The Role
As Lead Site Manager, you will take full site responsibility, reporting to a visiting contracts manager overseeing all site operations from start to completion.
- Managing day-to-day site activities and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
- Coordinating trades and managing site logistics on a live high security environment
- Driving quality standards and ensuring compliance with design requirements
- Monitoring progress and reporting to senior management
- Maintaining strong client relationships on site
- Ensuring all H&S procedures and company policies are adhered to
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Manager / Lead Site Manager with a main contractor
- Ideally have prior experience on high security or military projects
- Will need to have a BPSS clearance
- SMSTS, Black or White CSCS Card and First Aid qualified
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams and drive programme on site
