Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant looking for a part-time temporary opportunity?
We are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant to join a friendly, close-knit finance team within a fantastic Leeds-based charity.
This is a 3-month temporary position, starting on 7th September so you must be available immediately , working three days per week. The role will be predominantly focused on purchase ledger, alongside providing wider day-to-day finance and administrative support to the team.
The role
Around 75% of your time will be focused on purchase ledger, with responsibilities including:
- Processing and accurately coding purchase ledger invoices
- Supporting the weekly payment run
- Preparing payments for authorisation
- Inputting BACS and payment information
- Responding to finance queries via phone and email
- Supporting cash counting and reconciliation when required
- Processing donations
- Preparing occasional thank-you letters and correspondence
- Providing general finance administration support to the wider team
What we're looking for
- Previous purchase ledger experience
- A good general finance administration background
- Experience working within a finance team
- A practical understanding of day-to-day finance processes
- Basic Excel skills, including sums and simple formulas
- Confidence dealing with queries over the phone and email
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Experience using Sage 50 would be advantageous but isn't essential, so candidates with experience using other accounting systems will also be considered.
Hours & working pattern
This is a fully office-based role in LS3, working three days per week.
Monday and Tuesday are essential working days, with flexibility around the third day.
Typical hours will be approximately 9:00am4:30pm.
