Quantity Surveyor / Estimator | Exeter | £60k-£70k + Car Allowance Location: Exeter (office based, with hybrid working available once settled in the role) Salary: £60,000-£70,000 per annum + car allowance + benefits Contract type: Permanent The Company An established building services and construction business is looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join its Exeter office. You'll work alongside an established team on a varied portfolio of small works projects, with a strong pipeline of work across the South West. The Role Reporting into the Regional Director, you will cover both estimating and quantity surveying on projects ranging from £100k to £5m. The portfolio spans defence, commercial, healthcare, and public sector schemes, covering new build, refurbishment, and fit out. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working across sectors and being involved from tender through to delivery. Key responsibilities Preparing tenders and estimates for small works projects from £100k to £5m Sourcing and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations Managing project costs, valuations, and subcontractor payments Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts Managing variations and change control Working closely with the wider team to deliver projects on budget and to programme Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers About You Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator, ideally with a main contractor or similar Experience on small works projects across new build, refurbishment, and fit out Experience in defence, healthcare, commercial, or public sector work is an advantage Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Confident working independently and as part of an established team Full UK driving licence Working Pattern The role will initially be office based five days a week, with the option of hybrid working once you are settled in the role.
