Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacy Manager role based in Bath. The Pharmacy Manager will oversee daily pharmacy operations, including safe and accurate dispensing of NHS prescriptions, management of stock levels, and compliance with all regulatory and clinical governance standards. The role includes supervising, mentoring, and scheduling pharmacy technicians and other team members to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered service. The Pharmacy Manager will provide clinical leadership by conducting medicine usage reviews, supporting monitored dosage systems, and ensuring appropriate handling of prescriptions for local GP surgeries and care homes. Responsibilities also include driving service development in line with NHS and public health initiatives, maintaining strong relationships with prescribers and commissioners, handling audits and documentation, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer care.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, with comprehensive understanding of NHS pharmacy services and community healthcare.
- Proficiency in managing Prescription workflows, including clinical checking, accuracy checking, and safe dispensing processes.
- Experience supervising and collaborating with Pharmacy Technicians and wider pharmacy teams in a community or clinical setting.
- Knowledge and, where applicable, authorization to provide Immunization and other enhanced pharmacy services, or willingness to undertake required training.
- Fully qualified Pharmacist with current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Proven leadership, people management, and coaching skills, with the ability to build an inclusive, supportive team culture.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on compassionate, non‑judgmental patient care and clear clinical explanation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy under pressure in a high‑volume environment.
- Comfort with pharmacy IT systems, record‑keeping, and adherence to data protection and clinical governance requirements.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager or in a senior pharmacist role in community pharmacy is highly desirable.
