JHE & Partners are working exclusively with a global manufacturer in Bradford who are looking for a management accountant on a permanent basis. This is a superb opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking for a busy, varied and rewarding accounts position, to take the reins from the current accountant who is coming up to retirement.
Working in a small finance team, with responsibility for an excellent assistant accountant, the chosen candidate will be given autonomy to not only lead the UK accounts function, but work closely with the European offices and parent group in the USA. It is imperative you can produce accurate and timely financial information for the group to ensure continuous growth and fundamental profitability.
Duties:
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets and forecasting.
- Partner with Production Manager for a strong focus on cost of goods manufactured, inventory valuation, standard costing and production variances including material usage, labour efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap and machine utilisation.
- Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts including developing and maintaining KPI's to monitor progress and make informed decisions.
- Quarterly budget, profitability and cashflow forecasting including manufacturing costs, headcount, overheads and capital expenditure.
- Assist with Inventory control and stock reconciliations.
- Submission of VAT returns.
- Liaising with auditors to ensure accurate year-end processes and timely statutory account submission.
- Ownership of ERP system and liaison with other function managers to ensure data is processed correctly for financial reporting.
Candidate Specification:
- Part / fully qualified / qualified by experience.
- Minimum 3 years working in a similar role / manufacturing organisation.
- Good level of commercial awareness, with solid understanding of how a manufacturing business operates.
- High level of numeracy.
- Professional and committed.
- Good level of exposure to mainframe ERP systems.
On offer is a salary up to £52,000 plus excellent benefits including annual bonus, 26 days hol + bank + buy in option, 5% pension matched, death in service, Westfield healthcare cash plan, life insurance, private healthcare, gym facilities, onsite parking including charge point.
