It’s an opportunity to step out of pure legal execution and into a more commercial, deal-facing environment, working at the intersection of M&A, insurance and dispute resolution.
You’ll be advising on complex claims arising from high-value transactions, working closely with private equity sponsors, corporates and top-tier law firms.
The Role
- Assess and manage claims under warranty & indemnity (W&I) insurance policies
- Engage directly with law firms, clients and counterparties on live disputes
- Analyse transaction documents and underlying legal issues
- Help drive commercial strategy on claims outcomes and settlements
- Work closely with underwriting and broking teams across deals
This is a highly visible, client-facing role with real commercial responsibility early on.
Who This Suits
This role is designed for lawyers who enjoy the substance of complex work, but want more:
- exposure to the commercial side of deals
- direct client interaction
- faster decision-making
- a broader, business-facing career path
You are likely to be:
- 2–4 PQE from a strong law firm
- with experience in one or more of:
- litigation / disputes
- insurance / coverage
- corporate / M&A
Most importantly, you’re commercially minded and interested in moving closer to the business side of transactions.
Why Make the Move
- Stay close to high-quality M&A work without the traditional law firm model
- Gain direct exposure to private equity and deal dynamics
- Develop commercial judgment, not just legal analysis
- Join a growing market with strong long-term demand
- Clear progression beyond a purely legal career track
