Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer to join our clients organisation on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a senior-level role providing high-quality financial oversight, reporting, and administrative support to the Management Team. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial processes, compliance, and efficient month-end and quarter-end close-down procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level financial and administrative support to the Finance and Management Team
- Process financial transactions using Xero (essential)
- Take responsibility for month-end and quarter-end processes, including full financial close-down procedures
- Manage invoice processing, banking, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and compliant financial records and reporting systems
- Produce financial reports, budgets, and statistical data as required
- Support financial planning, monitoring, and audit readiness
- Handle complex enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face professionally
- Maintain and improve financial systems, processes, and controls
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, and organisational policies
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior financial administration role
- Strong experience using Xero accounting software (essential)
- Experience managing or leading month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Strong understanding of financial controls and reporting
- Excellent numeracy skills and high attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Advanced IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR
Desirable
- Experience within a charity or not-for-profit organisation
- Experience using Sage Line 50
- Welsh language skills
Hours of Work
20 - 25 hours per week
Flexible Working Days
Hybrid working is available
Salary
£42,000 per annum pro rata
£21-22 per hour
