Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Shift Manager for a leading Manufacturing Client in the Pontyclun area.
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Shift Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the smooth running of our establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to motivate a team. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency while fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and ensure production targets are met.
- Allocate/re-allocate labour according to the Operations notice board.
- Accomplish the production plan in line with operational standards.
- Attend shift hand-overs.
- Periodically check that lines are running at designated speeds.
- Anticipate problems and put actions in place to prevent them.
- Re-allocate labour and machinery as deemed necessary.
- Supervise and fire alarm evacuations and subsequent roll call.
- Attend daily production meetings.
- Carry out a weekly review of the production plan.
- Manage employee holidays.
- Ensure stock movements are completed as necessary.
- Challenge employees directly where appropriate regarding performance, attendance and other relevant HR issues.
- Ensure all staff adhere to the clients procedures, in particular regarding Health and Safety, Quality and Production.
- Prepare for the arrival of the following shift.
Qualifications and Experience β Essential
- G.C.S.E English and Mathematics grades A β D (or equivalent).
- Significant experience working in a FMCG cosmetics or pharmaceutical environment.
- GMP awareness.
- Excellent understanding of safety and environmental issues.
- Excellent understanding of high quality requirements.
- Previous experience of managing a team.
Qualifications and Experience β Desirable
- NVQ Performing Manufacturing Operations.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Team player.
- Flexible.
Essential Skill Requirements
- Good communication skills and attitude.
- Competent and self-motivated.
- Assertive.

- Data handling/PC skills.
- Able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
Hours
The hours of work are Monday to Friday/rotational morning and afternoon shifts.
