Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for a Shift Manager, working within the operations department of a well known manufacturing company.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Area Operations Manager and will have the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all required labour is present and allocate accordingly;
• Accomplish the production plan in line with operational standards;
• Periodically check that lines are running at designated speeds;
• Anticipate problems and put actions in place to prevent them;
• Supervise and fire alarm evacuations and subsequent roll call;
• Attend daily production meetings
• Carry out a weekly review of the production plan
• Manage employee holidays and challenge employees directly where appropriate regarding performance, attendance and other relevant HR issues.
• Ensure all staff present adheres to all procedures, in particular regarding Health & Safety, Quality and Production.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Qualifications

• G.C.S.E. English & Mathematics grades A*-D (or equivalent);
• Significant experience working in a FMCG cosmetics or pharmaceutical environment;
• Excellent understanding of safety and environmental issues;
• Excellent understanding of high quality requirements.
• Previous experience of managing a team.
• Good communication skills & attitude;
• Competent & self-motivated;
• Able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines.
• Although not essential, some engineering experience and knowledge would be advantageous.

This monthly-paid position is offered on the basis of 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern of mornings and afternoons.
