Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Stores Person for a leading Manufacturing Client in the Bridgend area. The role of the Stores Person is to ensure the correct and smooth movement of materials into and around the business, ensuring production schedules are met.
Responsibilities
- Movement of materials into and around the business, ensuring goods are moved safely and correctly as required.
- Ensure that goods are stored correctly and in accordance with company procedures.
- Control of inventory within the Stores areas, ensuring that high standards of house-keeping are adhered to.
- Ensure that transactions needed to update the business MRP system are done accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complete stock checks in line with business requirements, ensuring adherence to procedures and accuracy of details.
- Accurately perform stock checks ensuring that items are correctly and associated administrative tasks are completed in line with procedures.
- Maintain house-keeping in line with quality control requirements and to a general high standard, ensuring the elimination of FOD.
- Adherence to relevant Health and Safety requirements including PPE at all times.
Essential Skills
- Able to work effectively as part of the wider team, ensuring good service to the production areas and other relevant areas of the business.
- Excellent communication skills in order to work effectively with the Stores Section Leader and deliver daily requirements as set out by the supplied production schedule.
- Able to ensure adherence to standards and accuracy of work regarding documentation and recording keeping (specifically including batch cards and pick lists).
- Ability to lift and carry goods on a regular (daily) basis using the correct manual handling and/or equipment as necessary.
Qualifications
- Basic level of computer literacy related to internal software programs and MS Office.
- Basic level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Minimum 12 months in a similar role within a similar environment.
- Counterbalance FLT Licence and experience.
The role requires a significant amount of lifting and physical activity on a daily basis, together with daily use of pump trucks, lifting equipment and step ladders.
Working Hours
The hours of work are: Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 5pm or 6am to 3.30pm or 7am to 4.30pm.
