Payroll Specialist

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Wantage

Salary: GBP35,000 – GBP40,000

Office-based for 3 months, then hybrid (3 days in office, 2 from home)

JGA are partnering with a leading hospitality business, looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join the team and help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. You will be key in handling the monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and managing starters, leavers, pensions, and reports.

What you will be doing:

1. Setting up new starters and processing leavers
2. Making monthly updates and amendments to payroll
3. Checking and submitting monthly payroll
4. Producing reports, journals, and reconciliations
5. Assisting with audits and year-end tasks
6. Staying up to date on payroll and tax changes
7. Handling a mix of regular and ad-hoc payroll tasks

What we are looking for:

1. Solid payroll experience
2. Progress toward CIPP or similar qualifications is a plus
3. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and good with numbers
4. Proficient with Excel and accounting software
5. Discreet, proactive, and able to work independently

Some travel and occasional weekend work may be required during busy periods.
