We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Senior to join a payroll team based in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional with bureau or accountancy practice experience who enjoys managing a varied client portfolio and working within a fast-paced environment. The business offers a hybrid working model following probation, with a collaborative team culture and opportunities for ongoing development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly and monthly payrolls for a varied client portfolio
  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and ensuring excellent client service
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding payroll queries and resolutions
  • Preparing year-end payroll routines and returns
  • Managing Auto Enrolment and statutory submissions in line with deadlines
  • Processing CIS returns and related submissions
  • Uploading payroll payments via BACS
  • Supporting wider payroll team activities and providing cover where required
  • Building strong working relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and compliance requirements

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ payroll processing experience
  • Previous bureau or accountancy practice payroll experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, RTI, statutory payments, and Auto Enrolment
  • Experience managing multiple payrolls and working to strict deadlines
  • Confident carrying out manual payroll calculations where required
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office
