An exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a growing payroll team within an established accountancy practice environment. This role offers the chance to manage your own portfolio of client payrolls while working closely with a collaborative team and building strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
- Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and pension providers regarding payroll queries
- Complete RTI submissions and Auto Enrolment administration
- Prepare year-end payroll routines and statutory returns
- Process Direct BACS payroll payments
- Support CIS tax deducted returns and related submissions
- Ensure payroll deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met
- Provide support to colleagues across the wider business on payroll matters
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience
- Previous experience within payroll bureau or accountancy practice desirable
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Experience processing multiple payrolls independently
- Confident with manual payroll calculations, RTI, and Auto Enrolment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Sage, Xero Payroll, Earnie, or IRIS Payroll Professional advantageous
