An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join a growing and supportive payroll team in Northwich. Working closely with the Senior Payroll Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of client payrolls, delivering an accurate and professional service to businesses across a variety of sectors. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll bureau experience who enjoys managing client relationships and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end weekly, monthly, and quarterly payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
  • Administer Auto Enrolment and BACS payments.
  • Manage payroll queries and provide exceptional client service.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, HMRC, and third-party providers.
  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Keep up to date with payroll legislation and industry changes.
  • Support the wider payroll team and contribute to best practice initiatives.

About You

  • Extensive payroll experience within a bureau environment.
  • Accountancy practice experience would be highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory payments, and Auto Enrolment.
  • Confident processing payrolls from start to finish and resolving complex queries.
  • Experience with payroll software; BrightPay experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Must be able to commute to the Northwich office.
