Employee Benefits Consultant

Salary: Β£75,000 - Β£85,000

Location: Portsmouth / Plymouth / Southampton

Working Pattern: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them shape effective and competitive employee benefits strategies
  • Assess existing benefits arrangements and recommend practical improvements around design, cost and employee value
  • Research the market and advise clients on suitable providers, products and benefits solutions
  • Manage the delivery of benefits programmes, working with clients, providers and internal teams
  • Use benefits data, employee feedback and market insight to identify trends and opportunities
  • Produce clear reports and recommendations to help clients make informed benefits decisions
  • Support employee engagement through presentations, workshops, webinars and benefits communications
  • Keep clients informed on legislative and regulatory developments, including pensions, auto-enrolment, tax and GDPR
  • Contribute to the wider growth of the benefits function through marketing, thought leadership and client development

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience within employee benefits consulting or a similar advisory role
  • Strong understanding of the UK benefits market, including pensions, healthcare, life assurance and voluntary benefits
  • Confident working directly with employers and senior stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with the ability to understand client objectives and turn them into practical benefits solutions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret benefits data and market information
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple client projects and competing deadlines
  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working as part of a wider national team
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, including GDPR, auto-enrolment and the Equality Act
  • PSE experience would be advantageous, alongside relevant CII, PMI or CIPD qualifications
