Head of Payroll

Location: Glasgow / Hybrid Working (relocation support offered)

Salary: £58-70,000

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing a high volume payroll of 10,000+ including pensions, benefits, travel and expenses.
  • Leading the ongoing development of large teams.
  • Oversee and lead on performance levels of the payroll team.
  • Implement best practice and develop/improve poicies and procedures.
  • Answering and resolving all payroll related queries.
  • Designing, developing and delivering new processes to streamline and improve efficiency.
  • Deliver excellent customer service.

You will have:

  • Excellent communication, coaching and people skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation, including pensions, teachers pensions and employment and tax regulations.
  • Experience in running high volume payrolls of 10,000+.
  • Strong team leadership skills, including experience in coaching and development.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with an ability to manage budgets, forecast and create payroll reports.
  • Excellent IT skills, including advanced Excel.
