Payroll Accounting Specialist
12 Month FTC
Cambridge - Hybrid
JGA are partnering with a leading international business to recruit a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join their growing payroll function.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a background across payroll and accounting who enjoys the financial side of payroll, including journals, reconciliations and month-end activities.
The Role
Working closely with Payroll and Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Processing and reviewing payroll journals accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Managing queries relating to payroll journals and accounting
- Completing monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and prepayments
- Posting payroll and benefits invoices
- Supporting group, parent and subsidiary audits
- Investigating discrepancies and resolving payroll accounting queries
- Supporting ad hoc reporting, including PSA, STBV and Gender Pay Gap reporting
- Working closely with Payroll, Finance and wider internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within a payroll, payroll accounting or finance environment
- Strong experience with payroll journals and reconciliations
- Good understanding of month-end processes, accruals and prepayments
- AAT Level 4 qualification
- Ideally studying towards ACCA or CIMA
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
- Experience within a medium to large international organisation would be advantageous
