A leading international retail business is seeking an experienced Payroll Team Lead to oversee UK payroll operations within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
This role will suit a hands-on payroll professional with strong analytical skills, HRIS knowledge and the ability to independently manage complex payroll queries from start to finish. You’ll work closely with HR, Finance and key stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll delivery, resolve issues and drive continuous process improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee accurate and timely UK payroll processing.
- Manage complex payroll queries end-to-end, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Partner with HR, Finance and other stakeholders to resolve payroll issues.
- Use HRIS and payroll systems to analyse data, investigate discrepancies and improve processes.
- Ensure payroll compliance, reconciliations and robust controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and efficiency.
- Support payroll-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong UK payroll experience, ideally within a retail or multi-site environment.
- Good understanding of retail operations and their impact on payroll.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll queries independently.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
