JGA are pleased to be supporting Flow Payroll in their search for a Head of Product & Operations. Flow is building an AI-native payroll platform designed for modern, shift-based workforces across industries like hospitality, care, retail and recruitment. The platform is already live, processing thousands of payslips each month, with real customers onboard and strong growth plans ahead.
This is not a “strategy deck” product role. This is a hands-on operational leadership position for someone who genuinely understands payroll complexity and wants to help shape what payroll software looks like next. You’ll sit between customers, operations, product and engineering – translating real payroll challenges into scalable product decisions whilst helping Flow continue to refine and scale the platform.
The founders are looking for someone who can bring structure, operational rigour and deep payroll expertise into a fast-moving environment where decisions happen quickly and impact is visible immediately.
THE ROLE:
- Own the operational side of the platform – onboarding, implementation, payroll operations and customer delivery
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to shape payroll functionality, testing and roadmap priorities
- Run payroll parallel runs, compliance testing and validation processes
- Translate real-world payroll edge cases into product improvements that actually work operationally
- Support customers through onboarding, training and complex payroll queries
- Help build Flow’s presence within the payroll community through webinars, events and industry engagement
- Act as the operational bridge between customers, payroll and product
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Strong hands-on UK payroll experience – ideally within a payroll bureau, managed payroll provider or high-volume environment
- Deep understanding of RTI, pensions, statutory deductions, compliance and end-of-year processing
- Experience working within complex, shift-based payroll environments such as hospitality, recruitment, retail or care
- Someone operationally sharp who enjoys solving problems and improving processes
- Comfortable working alongside developers and product teams in a modern SaaS environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge, influence and provide structured feedback
- A genuine interest in the future of payroll technology and AI-driven operations
WHY JOIN FLOW?
- Join an early-stage business already processing live payrolls
- Direct access to founders and genuine influence over product direction
- Remote-first flexibility with optional London workspace
- Equity opportunity alongside salary/package
- Opportunity to shape a platform from early growth stage through scale
- A chance to genuinely influence the future direction of payroll technology
