An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced payroll professional to step into a team management role within a growing and client-focused environment. This position offers a strong mix of hands-on payroll delivery, team leadership, and client interaction.

The Role

  • Lead the delivery of payroll services across a varied client portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high service standards.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, support, mentor, and develop a team while contributing to the overall efficiency and growth of the payroll function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day payroll operations across a diverse client base.
  • Oversee weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Review payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and share insights with the team and clients.
  • Support, mentor, and develop junior team members, including reviewing work.
  • Assist with workload planning, performance management, and team coordination.

About You

  • Strong payroll experience within a bureau or client-facing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a payroll team.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in approach.
