The Role
- Lead the delivery of payroll services across a varied client portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high service standards.
- Manage day-to-day operations, support, mentor, and develop a team while contributing to the overall efficiency and growth of the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day payroll operations across a diverse client base.
- Oversee weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll cycles.
- Review payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
- Stay up to date with payroll legislation and share insights with the team and clients.
- Support, mentor, and develop junior team members, including reviewing work.
- Assist with workload planning, performance management, and team coordination.

- Strong payroll experience within a bureau or client-facing environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a payroll team.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
