An established professional services firm is seeking a Client Payroll Director to oversee delivery and support the growth of its managed payroll business.
The role is split roughly 50/50 between overseeing payroll delivery and growing the business.
You’ll lead a delivery team, take ownership of a portfolio of client accounts and act as the senior point of escalation. You’ll also negotiate contracts, manage account commercials and identify opportunities to expand services.
The position would suit a senior payroll leader who enjoys working directly with clients, can make decisions at pace and is confident challenging existing ways of working.
We are ideally looking for someone who is on a short notice period and available to start a new role in January.
What You'll Do
- Oversee the delivery of UK and international payroll services across a portfolio of clients
- Lead and develop the payroll delivery team, taking ownership of senior client escalations
- Draft and negotiate client contracts and manage the commercial performance of your accounts
- Grow existing accounts and support new business through proposals, referrals and industry events
- Improve the processes and controls that support consistent delivery as the business grows
What You'll Bring
- Senior client-facing experience in payroll consultancy, managed services or a payroll vendor
- Strong UK payroll knowledge, ideally with exposure to expatriate or international payroll
- Direct responsibility for client relationships, contract negotiations and account commercials
- Experience leading payroll delivery teams and resolving complex service issues
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and improving how services are delivered in a fast-moving environment
