The Role

You will oversee the delivery of payroll services across a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high service standards. Alongside operational responsibilities, you will support team development and contribute to the growth of payroll services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day payroll operations across a varied client portfolio
  • Oversee weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll processing
  • Review payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission
  • Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery
  • Support business development initiatives and promote payroll services internally and externally
  • Stay up to date with payroll legislation and industry developments, sharing insights with clients and colleagues
  • Support, mentor, and review the work of junior team members
  • Contribute to team management activities including performance reviews and workflow oversight

About You

  • Strong payroll experience within a bureau or client-facing environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience supporting or supervising junior team members
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in approach
