We’re supporting a senior Payroll Advisory hire at Director level within a top-tier consulting environment. This is not a purely technical payroll role and it’s not a BAU payroll operations position. The role sits firmly on the advisory side of payroll, working with clients on transformation, strategy, vendor models and complex payroll challenges.
The team is deliberately open on background. What matters is credible payroll SME depth, strong client-facing presence, and the personality and gravitas to succeed in consulting.
This role suits:
- Heads of Payroll / Payroll Directors transitioning into consulting
- Senior payroll consultants looking to move firm
- Payroll specialists from SI or professional services environments
You must be comfortable client-facing. Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and presence are essential - this is not a role for someone who prefers to stay behind the scenes.
Experience leading payroll change or transformation is important, ideally as the lead rather than BAU-only. Commercial awareness also matters: understanding vendors, delivery models and consulting economics.
Dayforce, Workday or UKG exposure is useful but not essential. Global payroll experience is welcomed, though exceptional UK-focused profiles will be considered.
Hybrid working, Southern UK. Director-level salary plus flexible benefits, with a broad band depending on experience.
If you’re a credible payroll leader who enjoys working with people and operating as a trusted advisor, this is well worth a conversation.
