The Company
JGA are partnering with a well-established, multi-site organisation within the manufacturing sector to recruit an experienced Payroll Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and growing business, supporting the Payroll Manager with the delivery of accurate and compliant monthly payrolls.
The Role
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end processing of multiple UK monthly payrolls for over 650 employees. This position requires strong technical payroll knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full end-to-end processing of monthly payrolls
- Gather and review time and attendance records to ensure accuracy
- Calculate salaries, expenses, and all statutory and voluntary deductions
- Administer new starters, leavers, contractual amendments, and site transfers
- Oversee pension auto-enrolment, contributions, opt-outs, and related communications
- Maintain compliance with HMRC regulations, The Pensions Regulator requirements, and UK employment law
- Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, and other applicable entitlements
- Generate and distribute payroll documentation including payslips, P45s, and P60s
- Complete and submit RTI returns to HMRC within required deadlines
- Produce payroll reports and maintain accurate, up-to-date spreadsheets
- Assist with both internal and external audit requirements
- Support the wider payroll function with additional duties as needed
About You
To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrable experience managing complex payrolls end-to-end for 650+ employees
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential data
- Strong payroll systems experience (Inpay knowledge beneficial but not essential)
- Advanced Excel capability, including complex formulas, VLOOKUPs, and CSV file handling
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, PDF tools, email platforms, SharePoint, and Teams
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines
