Registered industrial/domestic electrician
JG Wilson Hire Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Industrial/Domestic Electrician to join our team in Roxburgh, Otago. This full‑time role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the electrical maintenance and installation needs of our diverse client base across the region.
What you’ll be doing
Perform a wide range of electrical installation and maintenance tasks to a high standard, including fault finding, repairs, and upgrades.
Assist with maintenance and operation of a small hydro power station. Assist with installations of wind turbines and some solar power units.
Undertake electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Provide expert technical advice and recommendations to clients.
Maintain detailed records and documentation related to all work completed.
Collaborate with the wider team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Help other coworkers perform maintenance on non-electrical jobs when your job is quiet.
Having a background in machinery operating would be helpful – excavator, truck work.
What we’re looking for
A current Registered Electrician certification and extensive experience working in the industrial and domestic electrical sectors.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve electrical issues.
Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
A proactive, safety‑conscious approach and commitment to continuous learning.
Experience operating heavy machinery.
